Reminder: this opex brings Triple Witching
The weekly preview comments from Todd Salamone and Rocky White at Schaeffer's Research that I like to recommend to my readers, contain a reminder for this options expiration (opex) week: Monday Morning Outlook: The Calm Before Triple Witching (SchaeffersResearch.com, 6/14/09). Noting that these weeks tend to have a positive bias and that the markets remain perched above technical support, Todd points out some indicators to keep an eye on. Rocky's analysis this time compares the S&P 500's rally off the March lows with the prior rally from the November 2008 lows through January. In doing so, Rocky takes another look at Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) as well as the bull/bear poll percentage data from Investors' Intelligence. As always, their analysis are worth review in preparing for the week ahead.
