Schaeffer's Monday Morning Outlook: Global Worries Halt Dow's Winning Streak

By Todd Salamone: Are Bulls Due to Take Breather? Indicators Aren't Clear
Another week, another century marker toppled. Although the bulls took a
breather on Friday, ending an eight-session winning streak, the Dow Jones
Industrial Average still recorded a 1.1% gain for the week and conquered
the 10,700 level, just a week after passing 10,600. Looking ahead to next
week, Todd Salamone, Senior Vice President of Research, notes that the
market has historically suffered during the week following triple-witching
expiration. Todd says: "The case for a short-term, bearish stance is a lot
easier to make, but it is not necessarily a slam dunk by any means." Next,
Senior Quantitative Analyst Rocky White explains the Relative Strength
Index (RSI), a technical tool that can delineate overbought or oversold
markets. The S&P 500 Index is showing a high RSI reading -- which indicates
overbought -- but Rocky concludes this doesn't necessarily indicate a
pullback. Finally, we wrap up with a look at some key economic and earnings
reports slated for release this week.
